Selection

Our coffee selected for lovers lighter and more acidic is especially suitable for filtration (chemex, V60 and others), it is light roasted with the characteristics of apples, milk chocolate and nuts. The coffee is processed by the washed method and comes from relatively high altitudes between 1400 and 2000 m above sea level, where the cultivation is influenced by warm air currents.

Coffee from Guatemala is generally one of the tastiest and finest in the world, as high altitudes and rich soil create ideal growing conditions. Our Selection coffee specifically comes from the mountains of western Guatemala, from the COMAL cooperative, which, among other things, focuses on equal rights for women among growers, of whom about half are in the cooperative. Another interesting feature of this cooperative is that local farmers grow other crops in addition to coffee, thus supporting the preservation of biodiversity and the protection of local ecosystems, which benefit the diversity between crops (more about this is on our blog https://www.elementscoffee.cz/post / kava-deforestrace-a-klima? lang = en). The cooperative then helps farmers with logistics, quality management and training. Each grower processes and dries his own coffee.

For ground variants, we now use a more robust packaging, which will guarantee even greater freshness of your ground coffee. Grinding is now thanks to the packaging for a fee of CZK 12. The packaging can be washed and reused in the kitchen or otherwise.

Origin : Guatemala Huehuetenango, altitude 1400-200 m above sea level

Method of preparation: Washed method

Characteristics: apple, milk chocolate, nuts

Grinding:

Coarse = Czech "Turk", French Press, Cold Brew

Medium = drip, chemex, mocha teapot

Fine = espresso (lever, automatic coffee machine), Turkish coffee

Tip: in general, the roughness of grinding affects the extraction rate (the finer the grinding, the faster). This affects the taste - the longer the extraction, the more bitter the coffee. That's why you can experiment with grinding - for example, you can also use medium grinding for french press - the coffee will be stronger and more bitter, but the log will not be fully filtered.

It doesn't end with brewing coffee - you will learn how to use the coffee grounds (logger) again
